Local Government / Council
On Saturday 15 March 2008, many shire councils were amalgamated into
larger regional councils.
Please note: We have no connection with these councils - see their
websites for council
information and contact details.
- Moreton Bay Regional Council
covers the Pine Rivers, Redcliffe, Caboolture and Bribie Island region
on the north side of Brisbane. Natural features include Lake Samsonvale
(Pine Rivers Dam) and Lake Kurwongbah and the D'Aguilar Range.
- Somerset Regional

north-west of Brisbane. The region is known as the Brisbane Valley and has three large dams: Lake Wivenhoe,
Lake Somerset and Atkinson Dam.

many housing developments and light industry at Marsden, Crestmead, Slacks Creek and Loganholme.
